Lightfoot & Wolfville Ancienne Pinot Noir 2017
This product is currently sold out.
The 2017 vintage was fairly warm and dry, providing the ideal
growing conditions for our Ancienne series still wines. Fruit
quality was exceptional with minimal disease pressure and ideal
phenolic and sugar ripeness.
All grapes for this wine were hand-harvested from organic
and biodynamic estate vineyard in Avonport, Nova Scotia and
hand-sorted to yield the highest quality juice. Fermentation took
place using wild/indigenous yeasts to encourage the purest
expression of the Oak Island Vineyard. Aging of 18-months in
French oak – mostly old/neutral barrels – gave support and
texture to the fruit without overshadowing the terroir.
This wine is certified Biodynamic by Demeter.
